Wide-open spaces:
A setting for recovery and healing
For patients with life-changing disabilities, life gets divided into two distinct worlds.
There’s the supportive world of doctors, nurses, and therapists in the hospital.
Then there’s the challenging and sometimes unforgiving world of life back at home, a life that’s dramatically changed.
Patients stumble across roadblocks to recovery everywhere – even with the help of family and friends who suffer their own pain seeing you cope with yours.
At our ranch, we welcome people to a place that takes recovery talk and turns it into recovery action.
Getting on the road to recovery can be even more productive in a natural environment surrounded by wide-open spaces, and working with animals.
A supportive environment, plenty of work, plenty of reward
Located in a serene and natural environment, with herds of large animals as well as pets such as dogs and cats, our ranch offers:
-
Activities and therapies designed to promote healing, wellness, and independence – including adaptive horseback riding and swimming combined with physical therapy and counseling.
-
An environment to learn new skills, expand self-perception, and gain freedom from disabilities.
-
A relaxed setting to network with other families and caregivers
With activities that include working with horses, feeding the bison herd, and caring for ranch animals, spinal cord injury victims can embark on a transformative journey of recovery and reclaim their lives.
But our ranch is more than a place to heal. Visit our ranch to experience:
-
A community of like-minded people who share a common goal – overcoming physical limitations and living life to the fullest.
-
A productive focus on personalized care, natural surroundings, and peer support.
-
The empowerment to help everyone who visits achieve their fullest potential.
Therapeutic benefits? Yes. But this is also a home away from home. This is ranch to connect with others who understand your challenges and build lasting friendships. Our community is supportive, inclusive, and welcoming. It’s a safe and nurturing environment where everyone can thrive and become even stronger.
Home away from home:
A place for help and healing
We plan to build small homes with wheelchair access. Each will house a family during their stay. After a long hard day of physical therapy and working with our trainers, these homes away from home are examples of part of many ranch amenities and accommodations we will be planning.
